Final before the final. This are the correct word, woth which we can describe this semifinal between Chile and Argentina. Both southamerican teams have showed that they are the strongest team at this level in the world, and I think this will be the most interesting game of the tournament. Argentina how we all know are always strong at these World cups and now again are between the 4 teams, which will play on the semies. For most of the peaople Chile are one of the biggest surprises of this tournament. For me not :) I was sure before this World cup that they are one of the 2-3 best teams in the world right now, but have doubts if they will have the mentality and team spirit to show all they can. But it´s really amazing, that this team is growing up with each next game. The culmination was on Sunday, when they have scored 4 goals for 15 minutes against Nigeria, also one of the favourites in Canada. In this chilean team we can see everything, what we need to see in a big team. There are the stars- Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sanchez, who has more experience at a high level than may be all the players from all the teams in Canada. They have played in the last year in Colo Colo, have taken 3 times the title in Chile and have played a final in Copa Sudmaericana beeing important members of the first team of the chilean giant. We can see also the names of Gary Medel and Matias Vidangossy- the first important midfielder of Catolica and the second with great performances in Union Espanola, now a player of Villareal. Maurisio Isla is growing up.. and against Nigeria was may be the best player during all the 120 minutes. The most important thing in this team is may be the team spirit and the big ambitions. May be no one in Chile has believed it, when Vidal has said for 2 months, that the only idea, which exists in this team is the title of this World cup. All the players are motivated to play on their highest level, and they are showing that from the very first minute of their first game. 11 scored goals in 5 games, only against Austria they have not scored a goal. This is may be the best or one of the 2-3 best offensive lines in Canada. And of course we must say that the chilean team has the best defense not only in this World cup.. this is the best defense of all World cups u"0 in the history till now. The chilean team still 480 minutes has not conceeded a single goal, because of the amazing performances of their defenders, and of course of their goalkeeper- Tosseli. Isla has said after the game with Nigeria, now.. we continue doing our work to reach our mission. The only iodea now is 2 vicoties and taking the title. Chile has the better team. The only advantage for Argentina I can see, is exactly this, that Argentina is Argentina, they are always between the favourites, theay are always between the first 2-3 teams and for them it´s not something so esciting to play in the semifinals. They will not be so under pressure. In the qualifications for this tournamen in January in Paraguay, both teams have played 1 gama against each other-> 0-0. Argentina have not showed that they are something more, and in this qualifications they were the biggest surpirse for me, because have not played on such a good level, how we know that Argentinean youngsters can play.
Now we have @5,00 for the chilean win.. This is must bet.. 50-50 are the chances for me, may be 55-45 for chile, because how I have said, they have the better team like a team spirit and so on. It will be a closed game may be without too many goal opportunities for both sides and I expect that Chile will be able to take the lead first and to reach the final. Chile are one of the favourites to win the tournament. firstly they are a southamerican team, how we all know the teams from this continent are the strongest at this age each tournament :) The chilean team is very motivated to do sth in Canada. All the players have showed very very good skills for 5 months, when in Paraguay they played the qualifications for this tournament. The only team, which has won against them in the final phase was the home team of Paraguay. 0-0 with argentina, amzing 5-0 win against the previous winner of Sudamerican sub 20 Colombia, 1-1 with Uruguay, who have scored in 92´ and an amazing 2-2 draw with Brasil (Chile have played with 9 man at the end, and have made 2-2 in the very last minute :)!!! ). They have won many friendlies in the last months, have won an international tournament in Korea.. They have very good squad, with very good and powerfull players, good trainer, good motivation, high expactations..
The stars of the team are Arturo Vidal, who has played in Colo Colo till the end of the season.. Bayer Leverkusen have bought him for 11 mln $ and next season he will play in Germany. He and Alexis Sanchez (Udinese) are the biggest stars of the team. The are important members of the A Team of Chile, but the trainer Acosta has given them the permission to play in Canada and have not listed them for Copa America. Why?.. Because Chile have very big ambitions for this WC u20.. Really very good players and an amazing chance for this country to take sth important at such a high level. Mati Vidangossy-the playmaker of the team has been bought from Villareal, Gary Medel is important member of the first team of Universidad Catolica (2nd in the standings of this years Apertura in Chile) and so on... So what I am expacting is a good game from Chile, who will be very motivated to begin good their campaign and to win against the weakest (maybe) team in the group. In Chile the odds for the chilean win are 1,6.. Here in Europe we have much much better odds. The only advantage of the canadians is the fact, that they will play at home.. But I can´t see them making sth against the big southamerican team. The traditions in the football history between both countries are very big too. The chilean youngsters are a part of the most of the last U 20 WC´s, so.. the youngsters in this country are really very good :) Canada has lost most of their friendlies in the last months, and for me they are nothing more tha a weak north-american team:)

This will be the most important game for both teams. they have played their first games in the group stage of Copa America 2001 too and the result was 4-1 for Chile. Now I expect something similar. For me the chilean team is much much better, has much better players. In the defense we can see the names of Jorge Vargas and Pablo Contreras, who are in european clubs since more than 7-8 years and have very big experience in international games, what is very important for the defenders of one team. In the offensive line tonight will play Mati Fernandez- the best player in South America for last year, El Mago Valdivia- one of the best midfielders in South America now, Chupete Suazo- the best international goalscorer for last year. It´s enough to say, that there are no such names in Ecuador. 95% from the good results of the ecuadoreans in the last years are at home, because of the high attitude of Quito. They still can´t make anything special on the international scene.. The situation with the trainer of Chile is much complicated. He must make a good performance to keep his work. The moptivation of the team is very good. All in La Roja are reday to make a good Copa and to make the surprise. For me Canada is the better team. The canadians have won against Costa Rica and haiti in the group stage and have lost from Guadeloupe. In the first game with Costa Rica they have showed really very very good play and after HT it have not been a surprise for me, that they have won the game. Guatemala are nothing special. They have won only against El Salvador 1-0 in the group stage.. have made a draw with Trinidad and have lost their only "real" game with USA! Both teams will look to play for aq second time in the semifinals of this tournament. Leonel Noriega from Guatemala is banned, in Canada there are no problems with injured or banned players!
